It's Chili Time!

It was officially chili time at our house this week.  As soon as the temperatures start to drop and leaves start to fall it only seems right.  My husband would eat chili year round but to me it it most appropriate in the fall and winter months. Anyway, I thought I would share my go-to chili recipe. It is definitely worth trying out!

Three Bean Chili
1 can of black beans
1 can of kidney beans
2 cans of chili or pinto beans
2 cans of fire roasted tomatoes
1 can of tomato paste
1 lb ground sirloin or lean ground turkey
1 onion
2-3 garlic cloves
1 Tbsp olive oil

Chop the onion and garlic.  Add olive oil, onion and garlic to a large pan.  Turn stove to medium-high heat. Add sirloin or turkey and saute until brown. Drain excess fat from the pan.
Meanwhile combine beans, tomatoes and tomato paste in a large pot.  Add the meat from your pan.  Bring then entire pot to a boil. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
Season to taste. I generally add ground cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper and of course chili powder.

Enjoy!

Happy Tuesday Friends!!!
