Quantico- Where Marines Are Born

Well this weekend was a whirlwind but a fabulous one!  We only spent about 12 full hours in Quantico...the rest we spent driving to Quantico something I do not recommend.  But it was 100% worth it and it was so great to see Daane!

Here's how it all went down.  We got into Quantico a little after lunch on Friday afternoon.  Daane was released for family day so we spent the afternoon touring the base.  This included a trip to the PX (awesome mall) and his favorite down time spot...a park over looking a lake.  The weather was gorgeous and we were so excited to see him!

These two....adorable.
The next morning we were up bright and early to make it to the graduation ceremony.  The ceremony included three different companies and it was so cool to see Daane out there!

It's Official!
After graduation we headed to the Marine Museum where Daane was having his commissioning ceremony.  This was just his Company (C) and a much more intimate event.

After two full days of celebrating we headed back to Knoxville.  Daane starts Law School this Wednesday so he has about a 2 day summer.  His only request was some lake time...so Sunday we made it happen!
Daane Wakeboarding
It was an absolutely gorgeous day and we had a blast celebrating our last day of summer!

Daane we are SO SO proud of you and all of your hard work...it's official you are a MARINE!  Congrats little brother!!

Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!

Happy Monday Friends!
